Today, we rode 215 miles but it's a tale of 2 halves...

The 1st section was from Hamburg to Schwerin to visit the castle and have some lunch. This went according to plan, almost... We had a good ride in the warm sunshine and arrived at the castle as planned.

We had lunch at the castle but the service was appauling. We waited a long time to order, my lunch arrived but Sand's food was 20 minutes later, needless to say, we didn't leave a tip 😉😏.

The castle and grounds were stunning, we spent 2 hours there.

The second section was from Schwerin to Berlin , horrendous to say the least. The journey began perfectly well, we left Schwering at 1405h in the hot sunshine (26 degrees), we stopped at the services for a refreshment break at 1530h for 1/2 hour. Shortly after we resumed our journey, only having 58 miles to reach our hotel in Berlin, we approached a junction on the autobahn and a stream of traffic began to exit at the junction. Our trike sat nav doesn't inform us of traffic conditions so we continued on the route as traffic after the junction was flowing. This was a big mistake after a couple of miles all traffic came to a halt and we were stationary for quite a while then began to move very slowly with extended stops and starts. It took over an hour to reach the next junction where we exited the autobahn, filled up with petrol and rode to a small town to try and get the sat nav to re-route us but it kept tyring to take us back to the same autobahn junction.

We stopped in a retail park and plugged Sand's phone into the Apple Car Play which re-routed us takaing account of traffic conditions. It took us 5 miles further on to rejoin the autobahn because it was still the fastest route. It told us where the accident was and we were 15 minutes away from passing it.

We eventually arrived outside our hotel in Berlin at 1900h after taking 3 hours to complete the 58 miles ðŸĪŠðŸ˜Ŧ only to be told that the hotel car park was full ðŸ˜ŦðŸ˜ŦðŸ˜Ŧ. We checked in then we had to go to an underground car park 1 mile away and walk back to the hotel. We eventually arrived back at 2000h, hot, bothered, thirsty and hungry.

We were desparate for a cold drink and found a Vietnamese restaurant close by. The food was most delicious:

We will be collecting our trike tomorrow morning and securing it in the hotel car park for the remainder of our stay.

Lets hope tomorrow goes well 👍
