You may remember from our previous post, our trike was in an underground car park about a mile away. Our 1st job this morning was to bring the trike to our hotel. We went down to the car park as 1030h and saw that there were 2 free spaces, nos. 1 and 5. We went to the hotel reception, explained what we wanted to do and were told that there were no free spaces, all were allocated to guests, although empty now, they can return at any time, and that and that we should return at 1200h to check again as that this is the last checkout time for the hotel. We stayed local and returned at the appropriate time. The receptionist checked his register and allocated parking space no.1 to us, it had been empty all of the time - jobs worth...🤔. We walked to our trike and returned to the hotel to park only to find that we coukdn't gain entry to the car park. Sand had to go into reception and the receptionist had to walk to the car park entrance so that his device could open the door... what can I say...😫😏. When I parked the trike, bay 5 was also empty!!! There are only 10 spaces for the entire hotel. By this time it was 1300h, half a day gone.

Our initial intention was to have a hop on and off bus tour but it was too late by this time so we walked to Alexander Platz for some refreshments. This is very close to where we parked the trike. I've been there many times but it has certainly changed from my memory of it. It used to be an open place but it was full of food stalls, bars, music and cultural/market stalls. We ate lunch there and sat for quite a while people watching. We did buy our bus tickets while were were there as Alexander Platz is stop no. 1 for the tour.

We then decided to walk to the river, which we did in about 15 minutes. When we arrived there was a boat tour leaving soon so we bought tickets for the 1 hour tour. Here are a few photos from the boat:

After the tour we walked back to the vietnamese restaurant by our hotel via a couple of bars on the way. We arrived to eat about 1900h and it was delicious again:

Looking forward to the bus tour tomorrow.
