We woke up in Berlin to wet roads and a downpour - definately not predicted. So, instead of an early start we had tea and coffee in the hotel. Once we packed up and started our journey in blue skies, sunny and dry roads which was about 0945h. We intended for a lunch stop in Wittenburg knowing that we had a 3 1/2 hour saddle time to ride to Colditz if all went to plan. Needless to say, it didn't, it took us over an hour to get out of Berlin due to road works and traffic. At our 1st mini stop we reconsidered the route and went the direct way travelling about 155 miles in total for the journey.

The 1st stop in the services was terrible, all of the cold cabinates were not working, all of the drinks were warm!!😆, so we decided to carry on to the next services where we arrived at 1215h. These were good 🙂.

We had a few additional stops finally arriving in Colditz at 1530h. This was an eye opener. The streets are narrow and cobbled with lots of character. We parked the trike outside the building in a car port:

The building was quite large and we had the only apartment inside, the rest of the building is derilict!!:

The actual apartment is modern, clean, bright and airy but it doesn't have any luggage space or wardrobe space...., wait for tomorrow's entry to see the washing machine............😜.

We walked to a local pub/restaurant for our evening meal, fortunately it was open as the rest of Colditz was closed !!! We had a lovely meal. We sat in the garden with a cold beer, a bug came to join us:

..and we ate inside. It was the best schnitzel I have eaten:

Tomorrow we visit Colditz castle, more to follow...
