We decided to take a detour via Freiberg today as we were not travelling far and had to leave Colditz by 1000h. We took the scenic route and arrived in about an hour, parking by the castle:

The castle dates back to the mid 1500s and the town was built on silver mining. We walked up the main street and around the square before having lunch. Here are a few photos:

A forlorn looking waif (yes I ment "waif" and not wife🤣) staring at a beautiful building which was a kebab shop!!!

After lunch we started the 2nd leg of our journey to Dresden. We made a mistake by going on the autobahn, again very heavy traffic and roadworks 😜😣. We arrived in the car park at 1445h, plenty of time to have a relaxing evening.

Dresden was a pleasant surprise, what a lovely city 🤩, the old town was spectacular, we could have spent a day or 2 here exploring the buildings, museums and the Grand Palace. Definately worth a visit.

Here are a sample of our photos:

This was our evening meal for tonight. Sand had the baked potato and I had the mixed grill and shared my meat mmmmmmmmm👍

We only travelled 72 miles in total today. Off to Prague tomorrow.
