We woke to blue skies and sunshine with the intention of taking the hop on hop off bus tour. After breakfast we walked into the old town and decided to buy a 48 hour pass as there are 2 routes and we will not be able to see everything we want in one day. Today we took the inner city route, here are some photos:

The giant column is made up of molten cannon balls and armourment from the Napoleonic war to comemorate the fallen German soldiers who fought there!!

At the end of our second tour around the city we walked to collect our laundry by which time the weather had completely changed to grey skies and a few spots of rain. We were nearly at our hotel when it started to rain hard, we only got a bit wet 🤣. Sand sorted the laundry back into our way of packing then we had some wine in the bar while we waited for the rain to blow over and started today's post.

We walked back into the old town for an early evening meal having not eaten anything since breakfast. We had a wonderful Bavarian meal each:

Sand had mushroom risotto with prawns Bavarian style, totally different to anything that she has eaten before, it was delicious. I started with a beef goulash soup and then had 3 different Bavarian sausages, a meatball, mashed potatoes and gravy. It did come with sourkraut (yuk 😫) so I declined that, even Sand won't eat it!!!. What a lovely meal.

We decided to walk back via a bar that we have had a drink in before. We sat at a table and when the server came to take our order he insisted that we had to eat food, we could not just have a drink. So we left. Jobs worth again, they won't see us tomorrow !!!

We called into another bar on the way back to our hotel, Sand ordered a glass of wine and I ordered a Margareta. Sand's drink was delivered fairly quickly but was a short measure and my Margareta took 15 minutes to be delivered, is was small and warm !! Another place that won't see us again.

On a good note, the evening brightened up and we had a good walk back to the hotel in blue skies and sunshine:
